Carpet Installation Process & Preparation

Home Contact Us Return
We desire to make the installation of your floorcovering product(s) easy and enjoyable from beginning to completion. There are a few factors to take in mind and guidelines to follow that may help you through the installation process.

  • Color and Pattern Matching: If you have a preference for the direction of the pattern on your product, please discuss this with your sales professional before we come to install the product.
  • Stairs: In some instances we may not be able to match a pattern on stairs or the area next to them. or it may require additional carpet. So, please ask your sales professional for alternative options.
  • Seams: Seams are inevitable. Our installers will do the best they can to hide or minimize the visibility of seams. Discuss seam placement with your sales professional upon the selection of your product.
  • Left over product: Most products are manufactured in specific widths and this may result in remnants. Please indicate your preference regarding the disposition of the left-overs.
Here is a list of things to consider before our installer(s) arrives:
  • Be sure to verify your installation date.
  • Remove all "breakables" from the room.
  • Determine who will move furniture, appliances, and the sub-floor, if necessary.
  • Arrange for the disconnection of gas appliances and ice makers, if necessary.
  • Determine if any change to the height of the floor would require adjustments to doors in order for them to work properly.
  • Ensure the removal of items in storage areas and closets where the floor is to be resurfaced.
  • Make sure the drapes, wall hangings and pictures are removed from the room where the work is to be done.
  • Verify that your in-home temperature is appropriate for installation. We recommend above 70 degrees.
  • If applicable, be sure to manage safety or alarm systems prior to our arrival or provide the codes and instructions for our use.
  • Please be sure there is adequate parking and access to your property.
